WordPress Workshop
PULLMAN, Washington – A WordPress workshop will be held January 17, 9am to 1pm, at Hilltop Inn in Pullman. Featuring Josh Wade, a popular consultant from nectarMEDIA, participants will learn how to build a cost effective website. This workshop is presented by Southeast Washington Economic Development Association (SEWEDA), Pullman Chamber of Commerce, and sponsored by Inland Northwest Partners and Inland Northwest Economic Alliance. Space is limited and pre-registration is required at the Pullman Chamber, marie@pullmanchamber.com or 334-3565. Cost is $20 and includes lunch.
Topics to be covered include the following.
Your Website: We will discuss the high level strategy you need for your online presence. Is it mobile friendly? How do you drive traffic to your website? Are you being found in search engines?
Building the Platform: Learn the step-by-step process to building a WordPress site from scratch. Whether you want to add a blog to your existing site or need to build a site from the ground up, you will learn about pages, posts, widgets, themes and more.
Infrastructure: What do you need to make your website live? Additional topics covered in this class are domain names, DNS servers, hosting, and ensuring a mobile friendly experience for users.
Promoting and Blogging: Content is king and being found online is critical to business success. We will spend the final hour talking about promoting your website/blog, how to write content that is search engine optimized, creating a content calendar and promoting your blog through social media, email and beyond.
