Sumi-e painting: Students will learn introductory brush strokes from the Japanese Sumi-E tradition of ink painting. After practice we will make greeting cards using these graceful strokes and variations. Materials will be provided, but students are welcome to bring a favorite bamboo brush if they have one.
Instructor: Jeanne Wood has been an artist in the Palouse Region since the early 1970s. Although she works primarily with ceramics, she also draws, costumes, and does a wide variety of art. She is inspired by history and teaching.
Materials fee: $3. Please pay the instructor this amount the day of the class.
Registrations: Register in advance for $35 using the button at the bottom of this calendar listing or call 509-229-3414. If you wait to register at the Barn the day of the class, the fee increases to $45.
