Wild Women Winter Art Series - 16 sessions, 16 different topics, on Sunday afternoons from January 3 through April 24. If you have a family that is glued to the TV watching Sunday afternoon sports, this is your chance to break free for a few hours and do something new and creative! Come experiment with a new medium! Bring a friend and have a great time.
Painting on silk: Students will be given a pre-stretched square of silk upon which they may draw or trace a design. Your design will then be outlined in Guta resist and painted with silk paints. These make beautiful little works of art. If placed in a window they become light-catchers. Or they can be hung on the wall. If you have a design, 10 in. by 10 in square, that you like, bring it with you. To work with silk painting, the designs you choose should not have small or fussy areas. I will also have some inspirations for you to peruse at the class. All materials are provided.
Instructor: Jeanne Wood has been an artist in the Palouse Region since the early 1970s. Although she works primarily with ceramics, she also draws, costumes, and does a wide variety of art. She is inspired by History and teaching.
