Name: Wild Women Winter Art Series- Knitting Miniature Socks
Date: January 3, 2016
Time: 12:30 PM - 3:30 PM PST
Event Description:
Wild Women Winter Art Series - 16 sessions, 16 different topics, on Sunday afternoons from January 3 through April 24. If you have a family that is glued to the TV watching Sunday afternoon sports, this is your chance to break free for a few hours and do something new and creative! Come experiment with a new medium! Bring a friend and have a great time.

Knitting Miniature Socks:  Students will need a set of 4-5 size 1 or 2 double pointed 7” needles.  Any material will work, but bamboo is best and easiest to work with, especially for beginners.  Needle sets will be available for purchase from the instructor.

Instructor: Mary Jo Hamilton has lived in Moscow since 1970. She works mainly with fiber, but enjoys creating assemblages and embellished art objects as well. She is a knitter and dyer of yarn, and enjoys spinning yarn. She has her own instructional DVD, The Zen of Socks, where she demonstrates her style of stress-free sock knitting.  Her line of hand dyed premium fingering weight sock yarn is sold under the name of Society Socks.  You may have seen her as the Sock Lady at local markets such as Moscow’s Farmers Market and the Winter Market. Check out her Facebook page under Society Socks.
