University Convocation 2013
Join Interim President Don Burnett, faculty, staff and new students and their families for the University Convocation. Alumnus Royce Bind will give the Convocation speech. Convocation is the official welcome and start to the academic year. Some elements of convocation resemble commencement, which marks the culmination of education at the University of Idaho. In academia, the word "convocation" refers to a ceremonial assembly of a college or university. Traditionally, academic convocations celebrate specials events such as the beginning of the academic year or the anniversary of an institution. A university barbecue will follow at 11:30 a.m. at the Idaho Commons Plaza. This event is free and open to the public.
