SAI Women Composers Concert

The local college and alumnae chapters of Sigma Alpha Iota Music Fraternity (SAI) invite you to attend this year’s annual Women Composers Concert on Saturday, February 22 at 4:00pm in Haddock Hall, University of Idaho Music Building. The program features college, alumnae and UI faculty members performing works by women composers from past and present centuries. This hour-long program includes works for solo voice, women’s vocal ensemble with saxophone and bassoon, 4-hand piano, solo organ, guitar, and marimba. The alumnae chapter will have four instrument lamps on display. Sale of these lamps supports an instrument repair fund for the chapter’s School Band Instrument Project which has provided over 70 “gently used” instruments to band programs in the Palouse area and Idaho District II schools since 2010. Concert-goers are invited to greet the performers and enjoy refreshments in the lobby after the concert.
