Community members are invited to bring their broken objects and a can-do spirit to the Moscow Public Library’s Repair Café on Sunday, October 20, from 1:00pm – 4:00pm at the 1912 Center. Volunteer experts will share their skills with visitors to repair books, clothing and textiles, small household appliances, toys, and other items. In addition, there will be a gluing station with a variety of glues. There is no guarantee that items will be properly repaired. Attendees bring items at their own risk.
The Repair Café movement started in the Netherlands in 2009 with the goals of reducing waste, teaching participants practical repair skills, and fostering a new appreciation for old possessions.
Funding for this program is provided by the Friends of the Moscow Library. Light refreshments will be provided. This free and fascinating library program is open to the public. For more information about this event, please visit the event section of our Facebook page, facebook.com/latahlibrary/.
