The Moscow Food Co-op will co-host the annual "Love Your Farmer, Love Your Food Event " from 5:30 - 8:00 p.m., on Thursday, January 28 in the Great Room at the 1912 Center, 412 East Third Street, Moscow, Idaho. This free event will provide an opportunity for community members to meet and talk with the people who provide many local products around the Palouse. A panel discussion with local producers will be from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m., it will be preceded by a social gathering for community members to talk with producers.
Panelist include Palouse Prairie Kobe of Tekoa, Wash.; Little Bear Dairy of Troy, Idaho; River City Farm of Lewiston, Idaho; Clearwater Canyon Cellars of Lewiston, Idaho; and Swallowtail Flowers of Moscow, Idaho. Locally sourced, seasonal appetizers will be provided by Patty Brehm from Kitchen Counter and there will be a no-host bar of local libations. Before and after the panel, community members can browse through a food and agriculture resource fair with educational materials from community organizations. Door prizes will be donated by local restaurants and businesses. The event is co-sponsored by City of Moscow, University of Idaho Extension, the Palouse-Clearwater Food Coalition, Rural Roots, and the Palouse Fresh Food project with in-kind food donations from local farmers, the Pacific Northwest Farmers Cooperative, and the U.S. Dry Pea & Lentil Council.
The Co-op is located at 121 East Fifth Street in downtown Moscow.
