Plastic Film Collection and Recycling Event

Recycle Beyond the Bag with the City of Moscow Sanitation Department, Latah County Solid Waste, and Moscow Recycling! A plastic film collection and recycling event will be held on Saturday, October 26 from 10:00am to 3:00pm at the Moscow Recycling Center, 401 Jackson Street. The collection area will be available in the South Lot of the Recycling Center off of C Street. This event is an opportunity for the public to begin saving bags and film packaging that are clean, dry, and empty. Acceptable items include: • Produce and bread bags • Grocery bags • Cereal box liners • Ice bags • Ziplock and other re-closable bags • Case overwrap • Newspaper sleeves • Dry cleaning bags • Plastic shopping bags • Bubble wrap For a visual display of acceptable plastic bag and film items, visit https://www.ci.moscow.id.us/DocumentCenter/View/18200/Recycling-Plastic-Bags-with-TREX-PDF. The plastic film collected at this event will be sent to the TREX Decking Company, which uses recycled plastic film, along with reclaimed wood, to create a composite decking material.
