Family, friends, fun and festivities are what locals can expect to find in downtown Moscow, Saturday, March 2. The planning committee invites you to participate in the annual Moscow Mardi Gras which celebrates local talent, our children and our community. The parade returns this year along with the old favorites such as the Kid’s Daytime Mardi Gras. (Additionally, the always anticipated over-21 evening Moscow Mardi Gras Music Festival takes place starting at 9 p.m.)
The parade begins at 11 a.m. All parade entries are welcome (bands, marching bands, floats, pets, kids, parents, school groups, clubs, community organizations, and etc.) and preregistration by Feb. 23 is required. Registration forms are available at www.moscowmardigras.com
Kid’s Mardi Gras, the daytime free event for the local youth featuring Carnival games and crafts, runs from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Moscow Moose Lodge. Additionally, Festival Dance and the students of Coeur d’Alene’s Rock School begin their performances at the Kenworthy Performing Arts Center at 1 p.m.
Moscow Mardi Gras, Inc. is a non-profit organization which raises money for local children’s organizations and distributes the funds via grants by providing a festive musical experience in downtown Moscow, Idaho.
