Event Description:
Daytime Distractions Concert: Jeremiah Akin

Take a break, get some fresh air, bring a lunch, and come enjoy live music with coworkers, students, and other community members. Free popcorn will be available. Jeremiah Akin is a nationally touring singer and songwriter from Moscow, whose music is often compared to the likes of Connor Oberst, Tom Waits, and Elliot Smith. Akin is recognized for his attention to lyrical content that is mostly metaphorical, sublimely rhymed, always alliterative, and conclusively allusive. In the past year, Akin has become a published poet and essayist, and completed his first U.S. tour consisting of 36 shows in 22 states over the course of 42 days. He also has released one full-length album, "Weeping Prophet and the Bards of Apollo," and is currently working on a second album. This even is free and open to the public.
